I am very sensitive to specific sounds such as chewing, slurping, breathing and very loud sounds like loud music and loud chatting irritate me. Could this be some sort of a syndrome?
Thank you for your question.
Sensitivity to different things can vary from person to person. People with higher level of mindfulness can be extra sensitive to things around them. This becomes a problem if this behavior bothers you or people around you. Problems similar to this can be solved by practicing mindfulness;(to be in the present moment, observe what you feel and without resisting it,just let I pass away). It is unlikely to be a syndrome but we can’t diagnose whether this is a mental issue just through this service. If this behavior irritates you or you can’t tolerate this anymore please go to a psychotherapist or psychologist.
I hope we have helped you.
